On Site / workplace Guide TraininG Courses
A Major focus and success for NGC/NGTB is in engaging with and offering Lodge based Onsite Guide Training Courses for many Safari Companies throughout Botswana and Africa.
Via this type of training intervention, NGTB liaises directly with Safari Company leaders in order to understand and define their unique identity relating to the guided/wildlife experience offered to their guests.
NGTB often conducts needs analysis assessments of the clients operating guides from which we design relevant guide’s training/mentorship courses. These courses then focus on GAP areas of not only qualifications, but a MAJOR focus is on guiding according to HIGH PERFORMANCE Guiding Standards that work on the ground. Qualifications sometimes become tedious for the guide and the assessors to tick off the boxes. While we do this appropriately, NGTB focuses on mentoring the guides to guide according to higher level guiding standards and techniques.
Many companies close down one or more camps/lodge to guests during the quiet season, keeping the camp open for guide training interventions.
This is fantastic commitment and investment by the employers that helps to develop and inspire their operating as well as new/learner guides.
